ABOUT CULTURE CORNER
It is no doubt that language and culture do complement each other, and one would agree that language is part of the culture. Understanding the cultural phenomena behind language will enhance language learning. The Confucius Institute of University of Macau (CIUM) is not only an institution that offers Mandarin classes to students, but a place that advocates Chinese traditions and culture. The purpose of this “corner” is to provide interesting culture facts and stories to our Chinese learners.
