On April 26, Professor Yang Kairong, Specially Appointed Professor at Senshu University in Japan and Honorary Professor at the University of Tokyo, was invited to give a lecture on the topic of “A Study on the Selection Mechanism of Chinese Sentence Patterns: A Functional Perspective” to over 150 staff and students. Professor Chen Zhong, Deputy Director of the UM Confucius Institute chaired the seminar. Professor Xu Jie, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Yuan Yulin, Head of Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and Professor Shi Chunhong from Beijing Language and Culture University all attended the seminar.
