On August 15 at 2:30 p.m., the UM Confucius Institute organized a Teaching Assistant (TA) Training Workshop for the 1st Semester of the Academic Year 2024/2025. The workshop aims to facilitate the integration of TAs into the Confucius Institute teaching team.
Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of their roles, clarified individual responsibilities, and standardized teaching practices. The event also reinforced a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring that everyone is well-prepared for the upcoming semester’s teaching tasks. The workshop laid a solid foundation for the work in the coming semester.
Professor Chen Zhong, Deputy Director of the UM Confucius Institute, Ms. Xue Lian, Instructor of the UM Confucius Institute, Ms. Cindy Koon, Secretary of the UM Confucius Institute, and volunteer teachers Ms. Chen Yiqi, Ms. Yang Xingru, and Ms. Feng Xinkui from the Language Unity Center, together with more than 10 TAs, participated in this workshop at E34.
The workshop featured several components: ice-breaking activities, an introduction to the Institute and TA duties, and a Q&A session with experience sharing. Some segments included on-site practical exercises and interactive testing sessions.
The Workshop was a valuable success, providing TAs with essential skills and fostering a strong sense of community. We look forward to seeing how this preparation enhances their contributions in the upcoming semester.
