On the afternoon of April 22, 2026, the academic seminar “Sentiment Analysis Based on Appraisal Theory Using Large Language Models: A Case Study of the Novel “To Live” was held in E21-3118.

Organized by the Confucius Institute, the seminar featured Professor Wu Ping from Beijing Language and Culture University as the keynote speaker. The session was presided over by Professor Chen Zhong, Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute, and attended by several faculty members and students, including Professor Xu Jie, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The seminar offered a sophisticated interdisciplinary feast for academic colleagues and the UM community.
